When you first hear a name you will know almost instantaneously whether it is right or wrong. In this case, I have to agree with so many of us that this requires serious consideration for the name of the JC to be changed. The change should reflect the rich tradition and long history all the 3 schools possess to do justice for the students and teachers alike. Names to be considered are: Bishan JC, Trinity JC

I believe the committee intention was good but please pick a name that more Singaporean can associate with. Judging from the public reaction, it is already a "bad start"

For our juniors' sake please allow them to vote on a new name! (Although have to admit this is better than calling it New Government Junior College which is what some people thought it would be called)

Intention is good but it just wont fly. Whats wrong with a simple name like Bishan JC or Upper Thomson JC. We should get our kids to be proud of of local names instead copy and paste from God knows where.

The name is not reflective of Singaporean, Southeast Asian or Asian culture & heritage. Why Greek? Why not Indian? Arabic?
We have no Zeus nor Jupiter... we don't speak Latin. But we are Singaporean and Asian.

Can we stop thinking so hard on coming up with silly names? Sometimes it's the simple ones that work best. Maybe named after an early Singapore pioneer or notable figure in the country's history. No one would find fault in that, and it wouldn't be greek to anyone either.

Pls change the name to Trinity JC. Trinity as an English word means a group of 3. It sounds good, it is pronounceable & it is relevant.

Even if it meant something significant, getting our Asian tongues around this string of syllables requires great effort.
