In the 2009-2010 school year, the Pennsylvania Department of Education has scheduled PSSA testing for consecutive weeks. This means that students in 8th grade and 11th grade will be taking high stakes test for 3 weeks in a row. We do not believe this is in the best interest of the students. The students will quickly become mentally exhausted; consequently, they may not perform well in the later days of the tests. Additionally, teachers will have to stop teaching or at least avoid assessing their curriculum for a large chunk of time. We feel that in order for our students to truly perform at their best, these tests should have more time between them.
