The school board reviewed our formal recommendations and officially ratified a new, equitable dress code policy this morning. Implementation of these updated guidelines begins for all students immediately. We will continue monitoring the enforcement process to ensure full compliance with the new standard.

Hello, I'm a student here in central Texas and I want to start a petition to change the dress code because 13-18 year old women and men should not be sexualized for wearing short clothes that shows their stomachs, shoulders and skin above their knees. IT IS NOT A DISTRACTION. Not only is it disgusting that grown men and women are “distracted” by highschool students wearing “revealing“ clothing but takes time away from students in class and their education. A hole that is a centimeter above a students fingertips should not cause them to miss a whole day and is instead spent in in school suspension , when they could be in class learning and participating. We need to prove to all of our superintendents and school committees that it must be changed. Sign this petition to help me Change our dress code

I am currently compiling the formal request for the board of trustees to review the current enforcement policies. The signatures collected thus far are being formatted into a packet to accompany the meeting request.

i very much agree! students should not be pulled out of class because that is the distraction, taking a kid away from learning is not right. also, size when it comes to dress code as well! if someone bigger was to wear the same thing as someone smaller the bigger person would get dress coded. happens all the time at school.
Not only does the dress code target specific students, it take time away from important things in school like education. I understand that there is a dress code for a reason but there’s no reason why a hole one centimeter (I measured) above my fingertips should cut 20 minutes out of my day. Being threatened with ISS does nothing but prove that Lampasas High cares more about their attendance rates than their students education.
The dress code says no “large holes” what size is “large” LHS ?? To me that’s 7-10 in but to an old man? Probably 2. Also have you noticed how schools like Liberty Hill, who have little to no dress code, actually have higher test scores and attendance rates….
Half of the dress code is ridiculous, girls know the difference between scandalous and clothes and to top it off boys should be taught to keep their hands and eyes off of us instead of teaching girls their bodies are objects
it’s literally so bad. one of the coaches gave me a warning for wearing a dress and it was literally tight and to my KNEES. if teachers get distracted by shoulders and legs then should they rlly be teaching?
LAMPASAS MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS NEED TO STOP BEING SEXUALIZED BY MALE AND FEMALE TEACHERS AND STAFF
The dresscode is absolutely discriminatory

i understand short shorts and wearing sports bras to school but a shirt revealing an inch of stomach or jeans with holes above the knee are not a “distraction”. such a strict dress code is teaching young moldable girls that there body is something to cover and not embrace
