Safety of the children in care must be a higher priority than saving dollars. I remain concerned with wording about "related" children. Because there is no definition of "related". Currently exempt providers are able to care for many children who are "related" to them. Could be grandchildren, nieces & nephews, cousins, cousin's kids.... All are considered "related"; so there is a potential for one person to care for many children related to them PLUS another family.

Childcare provides our communities with a valuable asset. Licensing holds providers accountable for the safety of our children while in a providers care. This bill creates dangerous loopholes that jeopardize children's health and safety while in the care of exempt providers. Please change this bill and keep our children safe.

This bill would put colorados children at risk...ask yourself, would you want you child with an unlicensed provider? Would you go to a doctor or dentist that doesnt continue their education? Even if this bill gives ccap parents more childcare options, most licensed providers would just go unlicedsed and still charge a premium fee because now providers wouldn't have to maintain any continued childhood education! Me included! (i am currently a licensed provider)

I think that this bill should not be passed is daycare provider will probably go unlicensed I don't want to have to jump through hoops but I do it for the safety of the children if they don't have to why should I

Passing this bill with no requirements for people watching groups of children makes a clear statement that quality and safety are NOT a priority for Colorado's children!

I work in a licensed care facility and have really learned a lot from the mandatory trainings. Please remember everything we do is what is best for children!

I would also add that they need to be inspected! This bill looks to me like just changing the name from unlicensed to exempt with nothing else done to ensure safety of children! Strongly oppose!

The bill is unclear and we are putting children in environments that may be unsafe and not follow the law.

As written, this bill is too broad and does not provide enough protection for the children in care. Please change the wording.
