I am appalled at this bill! I have been a Licensed Home provider for more than 30 years, The State has crammed down our throats the importance of quality child care, They created the Tier program for Colorado shines, we have to take 15 credit hours a year on top of all the mandatory classes such as Cpr and First aide, When we are inspected they go through our home and paperwork with a fine tooth comb, Now they are wanting people to watch up to 4 kids without all these regulations? Unbelievable, What is going to stop Chester the molester from opening an unlicensed child care? How is the State going to regulate who is watching these kids, and what is most disturbing is who does these background checks to make sure someone with an unfavorable background doesn't take advantage of this loophole and watch more than 4 kids? Ridiculous!

I have been a Licensed Child Care provider for 38 years. The safety of all the children is the most important thing! If this passes there will be no background checks? Child abusers and molesters will be taking care of the children? No good!! Please, DO NOT LET THIS BILL SB17-110 PASS!

Please do not allow this bill to pass. Those of us who have worked very hard to be within the parameters of what the state of Colorado requires for licensed providers comma will suffer greatly, and so will the children in unlicensed care.

The person who cared for and abused my child was eventually put in jail, but I be not for long. I would hate to think she could care for children of others again if not background check required...and never fear being caught.

This is so wrong!! I am a licensed provider! I have to do all my classes, back ground check and stay within Colorado laws!! And now you think it's ok to give them a chance!! No no no

This will lead to licensed providers leaving the child care industry, poor child care being the most likely availability, possibly higher rates for licensed providers because of the parents that realize background checks and licensing is a must for their children.

As a parent, I find the thought of an unlicensed provider looking after my child more than concerning. The lack of background checks in itself means you have no idea who is watching your child. That's terrifying.

This bill is so unsettling for so many reasons! We have worked hard in our profession to make sure our standards are high according to licensing and now anyone can watch children with no training, guidance and regulation. Please think of our children and not just the dollar!

I'm a licensed childcare provider, and I'm not at all for unlicensed providers to have an excuse to have more children than what is allowed by the state as it is currently. If the state wants them to have more kids, then they need to get licensed.

Allowing unlicensed providers to care for more children only hurts licensed providers and puts more children in danger!

There needs to be laws for unlicensed facilities. At least the basics. These are the homes you see children get hurt the most and it makes those of us who are licensed look bad. They should have to follow the same rules and regulations that licensed facilities have.

How any adult can put in the side the importance of a child safety, emotional and developmental growth? children are the treasure of every family and the future of our nation. They must be under the best possible supervision when they are away from home. If the provider have been in the shadow....the children will grow in the shadow...having a child care home regulated by the State, Having a child care home that follows an educational program will give the child the opportunity to become a good citizen, After all that's really what matter.

I am a new provider who has been through a lot of intense training and procedures to ensure a successful and safe business. I would not be pleased if others are in the same line of work and not following the proper protocol. We have to remember it's about the kids not the adults here.
