Non-commercial (for personal use by the property owners and not for sale or profit) agriculture, gardening, poultry, horse, and livestock raising as an accessory use to a one-family dwelling for the principal benefit of the occupant thereof, provided that the subject lot contains not less than three acres of land, and all related accessory buildings are located in the rear yard and not closer than 100 feet to any property line of a property zoned R-1, R-2, R-3, MHP or PD; 50 feet to any other property line not zoned AG; or 30 feet to any property line within the AG zone.

Let this child have his chickens. It's a lot better than sitting in the house playing on the ipad, phone, computer. This is what's wrong with kids these days. If more kids were taught to do things like this instead of an ipad or phone stuck in front of them. This world would be in a lot better shape than it is now. Southside is a farm city. But slowly it's becoming to the point were your farm animals and farm land have been taking over by a few people in this community that only sees dollar signs. Greed
The Southside I grew up with supported FFA and 4-H. It is a farming community. This little guy has a tremendous work ethic and this needs to be supported.
It's really sad that George and his Mom are having to do all this just to have chickens in a 100+ year old Farming Community. It used to be that we took it among our selves to "Talk" to our neighbors and work these things out and all were happy with end results. I sure do miss those days and being able to work WITH my neighbors not against them. #letgeorgehavethemchicks
I believe it is important for people to have the freedom to raise the own food on their own land no matter the size.
I hope this gets changed so your son and other kids can enjoy 4H activities and learn about the industry that built Southside—farming.
He should have his garden and get his chickens. Just like a lot of people in Southside who already have chickens and gardens!!!!!

This needs to be changed, I understand not having livestock on less than 3 acres but nothing wrong with a garden or some chickens ina coop
