This would certainly be a great honour to Mrs Vandale and family. I have many fond memories of my childhood spent with the Vandales in the same area.

they forced my great grandmother to sign papers she couldent even read so they could take her land, and build housing, and a highway on it. it should be vandale ave.

I support this change. I was born in Saskatoon all my family is from there, this city is my second home. I have a percentage of Métis in me and I am a Vandale; Vandale is my mother’s maiden name. I’m so proud to see the community standing up for what’s right and honouring a Métis name.

Not only first to live there but on land that was illegaly taken from great grandfather by the Grand Truck Railroad. Story goes that our family had a river plot that held a farm and they had one of the only horse and buggy's in town. The buggy was a delivery service and a hearse of sorts. They were living a pretty successful life for those times till rumour has it that great grandpa sold it in a bar. Was a common and sneaky illegal tactic of the time. Caused a major rift between great grandpa with his son and daughterinlaw. Hard to prove but I've heard it tauted by a few senior members of our family.

My grandparents were one of the first people to reside on this street Grandmother stayed in their home till she couldn’t anymore . she loved the home grandpa and her boys built for her . it still stands today

My \grandparentgs were the first to live on that street. They are Metis and My uncles started Metis Housing in Saskatoon and my Father, Melvin Vandale has been playing the fiddle for dancers as well as fund raising with his band.
