The administration just announced they are moving the dance date so no one has to choose between their faith and our school community. I am so relieved our peers will be included after all. Thank you for pushing for this change with me.

Seeing 500 signatures on this petition is overwhelming because I truly thought I was alone in my frustration. It means so much to know that my peers recognize how exclusionary this decision feels for our fellow students.

Seeing this level of support reminds me that my friends deserve to be included in our school traditions. It hurts to think about them missing out on a night that was meant for everyone. This momentum gives me hope that we can finally get the administration to fix this oversight.

I have been hearing from so many of you who feel sidelined by the current schedule because this tradition excludes us from our own school community. My meetings with administrators have been difficult but I am continuing to push for a date that allows every student to attend without compromising their faith.

The date should be changed. On Yom Kippur I will be fasting & this isn't my school but if it was I wouldn't be able to go because i'd be at synagogue. Shows how much they care about jewish student body. This needs to be changed so it is an inclusive homecoming.
i'm not jewish, or even religious at all, but to me this is extremely unfair and the dates and times should be changed so students in the jewish community can attend homecoming!
Not fair to my grandson and his Jewish peers as they will be fasting and observing the most holiest of the Jewish holidays. Please consider changing the dates so they all can attend and have wonderful memories of their high school years.
all religions should be treated equally and have the same oppurtunities. please change the date. so many communities and families are embarrassed by the fact a school would do this. especially one with a large jewish population. homecoming would never be on christmas, so why put it on the holiest day of the jewish year?
To be inclusive of all students, the homecoming dance should be moved to the day before or after or to the weekend before or after. It's a simple task to include all of the student body for a night about unity, fun, and school spirit.

I feel that all students should have the opportunity to attend one of the few largely attended events that our school holds. Though this date might have planned prior to the administration's awareness of this holiday, it should be moved so that all students may attend homecoming.
