We should change HOCO to Saturday nights so the homecoming game stays on Friday and the homecoming dance happens on Saturday night. This would give students and families a better chance to enjoy both parts of homecoming without having to rush from one event to the next.
Many people feel this would work better for our school community. It would make HOCO easier to plan around, and it would help keep the celebration in September or October instead of pushing it into November or December, when schedules are busier and the weather is less predictable. A Saturday dance would also give everyone more time to get ready, travel safely, and take part in the full experience.
Homecoming is supposed to be a special tradition that brings people together. Moving the dance to Saturday night would make the whole weekend feel more balanced and enjoyable. It would let students, parents, and staff take part in the game on Friday and still have a separate night for the dance and celebrations.
We ask school leaders to change HOCO to Saturday nights so our homecoming tradition is more convenient, more fun, and better timed for everyone involved.
I believe that hoco should be on Saturday therefore you don’t have to worry about missing appointments for hair and more time to get ready. This is how most schools do it with the tradition of having a football game then hoco. Having hoco in winter is problematic due weather, and having homecoming close to Christmas is inconvenient to family’s who travel.
