this was temporary is their a high accident area I'm not aware of. To my knowledge secondary hi ways anywhere else are 80 in short what documentation was presented or study's performed to justify the change in speed limit or is this a back room deal made to appease a few voters form the resent municipal elections

This is a "highway" as such, 60 km/h is NOT an appropriate speed limit.

The #2 is a HIGHWAY. Posting a 60 km/hr on highway 2 makes no sense!

All highways should be 80km/hr..including 62 north of the 401 that recently became a 4 lane highway.. UP IT FROM 60!!!!!!!!

good job Devon...should never be 60...either someone with a lot of pull lives in that area or the cops plan it to be a speed trap/ticket gauger

Please put it back to 80km... I feel this will cause more accidents and is just a money generator for the police. There is no reasonable reason for this drop in the limit... it's Hwy 2 for gosh sake!

I must comment on this petition as someone who advocated for getting the speed limit lowered to 60km. I live on this HWY and travel it several times daily. The traffic has increased 10x over the past 8yrs since living here. With the lower prices of gas and cigarettes it is like a NON STOP raceway of people driving at least 100km/hr and passing or riding my ass if I am going anything less than that.
I have seen many accidents on this hwy in the past few years and several of them are fatal. SPEED KILLS!!
I do have to add that the Belleville Police have contributed to people's upset over this speed limit change. It doesn't help that they sit on the edge of Belleville near Elmwood and pick people off for going 75km/hr. They should be ticketing the people who are going 100km because 80km really isn't a problem.

From shannonville to belleville should be changed back to 80 also and airport parkway in some parts.

unnecessary to have a 60 zone in a four lane highway, especially considering there's a median in between those lanes. it is residential but not overly populated. It's ridiculous thatall roads leading to Belleville are more 60 minus the 401 where there's usually construction now.
