Screen addiction is very real. It is hard enough to keep them off screens in their off time, there is no reason for screens during their learning time.

I feel that this is a really critical issue. This does not necessarily mean banning cell phones from schools, or stopping teachers from using the technology in class very occasionally. It means kids have no access to using them privately during the day at school. Let's do this!!

Parents can affect change too. Don't get your kids a cell phone or don't allow them to bring it to school. This petition is a first step. Thank you

I am 100% against cell phones in school. It is supposed to be a learning and teaching enviroment that is already challenging enough. There is no constructive use or needs for cell phones in school at that age.

School administrators need to support our kids-- NO cell phones at McM or VHS! Every educator and parent needs to be fully informed on this issue. The volume of research is overwhelming and the conclusions are clear. For starters, I highly recommend the book Screen Schooled, written by two veteran teachers. It provides a concise synopsis of the research and is funny (though highly alarming) as well.

Glad to support this cause and that there are others who believe that cell phone use during school hours is a huge distraction for our students. Shouldn’t the focus be on learning?

I strongly agree with this and totally support no screens during school day at Mcmurray and at VHS.

I worry for my child’s mental health and social media safety with her peers use of smartphones during the lunch hour in particular.
I absolutely agree!
