They actually said yes and we get that extra night to just breathe instead of sprinting out the door with our boxes. It feels surreal honestly but I am so incredibly happy that we get to have one last morning together as a class. I guess we should probably start …

This petition is in support of the initiative to allow seniors the opportunity to remain on campus an extra night after the graduation ceremonies Sunday, May 22. By extending the move out time to Monday, May 23, this will amend the current system of seniors having to move out of their dorms, say goodbye to family and friends, and honor the past four years of college, all in one afternoon. Instead of being rushed to leave the place we have come to call home over the past four years, we feel that this extension will allow us to more meaningfully put a cap on our collegiate experience here at Connecticut College. Please take the time to sign your name and include your class year if you agree with this initiative. Thank you for your time and support.

I have been hearing from so many people lately about how stressful the end of the year feels and it makes me think that maybe we are all just really burnt out and need this extra time to breathe (and pack, obviously). I have sent a few emails to the administration people and am still waiting to hear anything back, but I am going to keep trying because the way they expect us to just vanish after all this work feels honestly a bit cold.

Seriously. Let us actually enjoy the last night without stressing over packing boxes under a deadline.

honestly just cruel that they make us pack up our whole lives the second we graduate.

Trying to move everything out in a few hours while trying to say bye to everyone is impossible. This makes so much sense.

my parents are driving 6 hours, it would be so nice to actually have dinner with them instead of rushing to the dorms to pack.
