The county has formally rescinded the vaccination mandate for our department. Legal counsel confirmed that our collective bargaining agreement will be upheld as written. We will remain vigilant to ensure this policy is not reintroduced in the future.

As an employee of the Clark County Fire Department and a member of IAFF local 1908, I affirm the following three propositions. By signing this petition, I am exercising my constitutional right outlined in the first amendment to “petition the government for a redress of grievances”, regarding the vaccination mandate being implemented by Clark County.
1. I am opposed to a county or department wide COVID19 vaccination mandate in any form.
2. Every member of the Clark County Fire Department should have the right to make their own medical decisions regarding the COVID19 vaccination in consultation with their family, church, and/or personal physician.
3. Clark County has a duty to honor the collective bargaining agreement with Clark County Firefighters Local 1908 (July 1, 2021-June 30, 2024) which states in Article 14 on page 14 under physical examinations: “Employees may decline part or all immunizations. If the employee does decline part or all immunizations they must sign a form stating that they know the risk”.
My signature on this petition does not reflect my position on the efficacy, necessity, or value of the COVID19 vaccine itself. Rather, my signature reflects my opposition to any member of the Clark County Fire Department being forced to receive the vaccination against their will.

The growth of this movement has caught the attention of local legal counsel who are now reviewing our language regarding Article 14 of the bargaining agreement. I am preparing a formal letter to the county commissioners to request a meeting on the enforcement of these mandates. Further updates will follow regarding the specific timeline for our testimony.

A patient has the right to refuse medical treatment that’s the law. Period. What’s happening now is forced compliance or lose your livelihood.
Did we forget about natural immunity and all of us on the frontline since the beginning, without having the CV shot.
They do in fact have an obligation to honor the collective bargining agreement. This is another one of those things where if you let it slide this time, there is no reason to EVER honor the collective bargining agreement.
Hey I have the shot but I don’t feel that we should mandate people get it. It’s your choice.
It’s about freedom. Forcing someone with anti bodies to vax is not scientifically sound.
Unconstitutional! Unamerican! Will not be forced to do something against my free will! The county and CCFD management should be embarrassed that they are even considering this!
This isn’t fair . They should have the right to choose

I don’t feel the County has the right to force me to get a vaccine that doesn’t protect anyone else.
