We, the undersigned residents of Carroll County, ask that a monthly expenditures register be posted on the Carroll County web site.
- We believe in transparency and open government.
- We believe that taxpayers have a right to see where our tax dollars are being spent.
- We believe that due to past financial problems, an online expenditures register showing expenditure transactions will help build public confidence in County operations and administration.
We know that state law requires this of our state government and that Carroll County should do the same.

County officials are still stalling on the request for a public register. I am drafting a formal letter to the commissioners to press them for an answer.

Government works for it's citizens, and as such, taxpayers deserve to know how their tax dollars are being spent. Full transparency encourages fiscal responsibility!
I pay lots of taxes to Carroll County and I’d like to know how that money is spent.
As concerned taxpayers we need to see where our money is being spent. The monthly expenditure should be available just like your grocery receipt.
This should take a trivial amount of effort to achieve and not doing so is indefensible.
County Government must be kept accountable. Quarterly reports do not let us know where we stand.
