We, the undersigned residents of Carroll County, ask that a monthly expenditures register be posted on the Carroll County web site.

1. We believe in transparency and open government.
2. We believe that taxpayers have a right to see where our tax dollars are being spent.
3. We believe that due to past financial problems, an online expenditures register showing expenditure transactions will help build public confidence in County operations and administration.

We know that state law requires this of our state government and that Carroll County should do the same.

We believe that the register should be detailed expenditure transactions by department and include the date, account, person or entity to who payment was made, and transaction amount.
