Carolina Bays 31 Extension - Opposition to Route 17 Alternative

I agree the building is outpacing the infrastructure in the county but this extension should be more inland and not route option4

What is the economic and traffic flow logic of selecting Route 4 vs Route 4a. Seems to me that Route 4 is much more disruptive to local residences and businesses and would have prohibitive eminent domain costs.

I do not want Option 4.

I do not support the conversion of US 17 into an interstate Highway.

Opposing Route 4!

HYW 17 at 904 is already extremely congested. Using partially developed land farther inland crossing 904 toward 130 would allow 17 to function as it’s presently designed. Roads should serve the citizens needs not destroy established communities to make room for a unrepresented or unknown citizenry.

I am in opposition to this alternative path as it is extremely negative to the Ocean Ridge community..

The route 4 option is wrong. The number of residents, homes and businesses impacted is unbelievably high. The county should go with the option that impacts the least residents.

This road is needed, but the route is too destructive to hundreds of businesses, homes, churches and cemeteries. US17 is far too developed to be an option for this road. 30 years ago it might have been an option; today, it is untenable. Please find a significantly less disruptive route further inland,

I support the inland route 4a not route 4

Option Rte 4A is the obvious option. It is unbelievable to me that option Rte 4 is even being considered.

Option 4 will decimate my Ocean Ridge community and I vehemently oppose this option

Route 4A should be the preferred route. It has less impact on existing developments, residences and businesses.

Route 4A has less impact on existing homes, developments and businesses and should be the preferred route.

The Route 4A option is the most practical option. It’s the least destructive route saving homes, 70 businesses, church buildings and even a cemetery. Do the right thing and move it into the countryside

Dumping traffic from this extension on to 17 will just concentrate more traffic on 17. Put the extension out further west and parallel to 17 and have it join 17 to the east of Shallotte, where the area is more rural.

Build a parallel highway inland to connect with 140 in Leland area. Plan ahead and STOP trying to play catch-up.

Too much impact to local businesses and homes…it Ned’s to be routed further away from US17

I do NOT support routing ANY part of 31 joining with Hwy 17

Keep this road out of Ocean Ridge Plantation
