Carolina Bays 31 Extension - Opposition to Route 17 Alternative

I prefer a route that does not convert US17 into an interstate highway. If that is not possible, I would accept option 4a.

I support option 4a as a less obtrusive option.

Stay off Rt 17 Continue interstate north to Rt I-40

Planned route 4 is too disruptive and therefore unacceptable. Please consider a totally new route or route 4A

Option 4 would appear to affect many more homes and businesses than option 4A. It would seem to make far more sense to go inland rather than utilized route 17

Please listen to the majority of the residents and business who will be adversely effected if you use Route 17. Please go inland and create additional infrastructure to support the influx of people into this area.

i do not want extension 4 approved, 4a is a much better choice, 4a goes mostly thru farm land , 4 goes thru some residential but upsets alot of commercial businesses

I strongly urge all lawmakers to support option 4A.

Why would the NCDOT disrupt so many businesses, homes and places of worship. When there is another route that can work

as a resident of Ocean Ridge, i strongly oppose project 4A. Many current residdents will be dispaced and/or affected

We support the 4A option.

4A is the best and preferred option for us living on Rt 17.

I believe Route 4A provides the best alternative. If it were to go past Shallote, past the auto dealerships, there would be fewer residences affected at this time.

No common sense reason to route this over ANY part of Highway 17 even North of Shallotte. Needs to be in-land and totally new construction over less dense populated (rural/farmland) areas. Actually should run all the way to the I 140 bypass around Wilmington!

4a is the best option

Looking at the impact on existing businesses and communities, I feel plan 4A represents the best option in current planning for this project. Further, seems to me the best option overall would be one that parallels Rt 17 more inland and runs all the way to Rt 140. Any use of Rt 17 will impact much more existing housing and businesses throughout the process.

Alternative route 4A clearly would be the least disruptive and most cost-effective option for Carolina Bays Parkway extension into NC. Extending to the Hwy 17 and 904 intersection would unnecesarily destroy many businesses and homes, and increase both noise and environmental pollution to the adjacent communities.
