Carolina Bays 31 Extension - Opposition to Route 17 Alternative

I support the 4A route.

We have lived in Brunswick County for 21 years, moving here for its peace and ambience, which has already changed. It does not make any sense whatsoever to bring Carolina Bays Parkway onto Rt 17 NC anywhere in Brunswick County & destroy so much of what most of us moved here for. This is NOT Myrtle Beach! Carolina Bays needs to be continued North to meet up with I-140 & contine that interstate system.

We support Alternative 4A

Do this highway correctly, as it is intended… for the purpose of providing a flow if traffic between North and Siuth Carolina that offers a flow expected of a supper highway. Creating a highway that creates traffic issues on Rt 17 in NC while costing millions more by the destruction of churches, businesses and homes/ communities is beyond acceptable. Create a plan where the road can provide a connection to Rt 74 and Rt 40 without creating new problems for existing businesses, church parishioners, and home owners along an already very busy corridor for traffic in Rt 17. Senseless idea if it does not do what is intended without excessive “ pain” and cost!

Route 4a, or even further west of US17, will be far less disruptive and intrusive.

Extension should run west of Route 17 and take pressure off of 17 instead of adding to it. Similar to how 31 takes pressure off of 17 in SC.

WE are opposed to Route 4 as Route 4a seems to make a lot more economic sense and pose less disturbance to nearby communities and businesses.

Route 4a or further inland needs to be selected

If you live in ORP the only choice is option 4a!

4a is preferable option

4a is a far better choice

Please keep our Ocean Ridge community whole.

There are far too many negative issues on this issue. I do NOT support this road project.

Plan extension to go north if 17 to eventually connect to I-140

It is very disturbing to hear of the proposed Route 4 route. The community that I will be moving into, Ocean Ridge Plantation will be negatively impacted along with numerous businesses. Other alternatives should be considered to help preserve the area.

4a is a far better and cheaper route

Please do not destroy the small coastal communities or sunset beach and ocean isle beach, nor the many housing developments existing or under construction.

We are very disheartened to hear about Route 4 being the proposed route. The intersection on 904 and 17 is very congested without adding the extension. Many businesses will be impacted not to mention Ocean Ridge Plantation losing half a golf course, numerous homes in community and how this will be devastating to home prices and future interest in this beautiful golf community!

This does not seem to be accomplishing much and could result in a hazardous situation if there is an accident and no way to pass.. especially if there is an evacuation situation due to a hurricane.
