Although I think that the kilt should not be banned, I strongly believe that the kilt should be worn in an appropriate manner at all times, by ANYONE who wants to wear them

The whole 'ban the kilt' issue is just nonsense. Allowing the kilts to stay creates a strong sense of belonging, a feeling on connection to fellow students and the school, as well as encouraging students to be proud of the school they are a part of. Banning the kilts, will bring nothing but 'talk' from other schools that CCAA has a 'kilt problem'. Really? Perhaps focussing on ways to encourage our young girls, artitistic women of the future, in a positive light, (all the while keeping the kilt), will remove all this undue attention around the kilts. Seriously, think this one over please!!! When it starts to become a power struggle, it's time to revisit why all this time and attention is on this subject instead of on something new (club, program...) for the school. It's time to really look at what the end result will be and its effect on future students and alumni. CCAA is not the first school to have challenges with girls wearing them too short, however eliminating them will be such a shame. Think this through! #keepthekilt #timetoreconsider

My daughter will be in her final year of high school and I am not interested in spending more money on a uniform that she will never use. I just bought her a new kilt this year. If this is something you are serious about doing then you should transition the change and start with new students starting at your school.

I agreed to ban the kilt at the beginning but after reading petition, I believe that they should not ban it and maybe just put rules on kilt lengths and enforce it.

The "kilt issue" was one of unnecessary concern throughout my entire 4 years at CCAA. My alma mater needs to prioritize their education instead of shaming young girls for showing some knee. This is a wonderful school that cultivates an environment of inclusivity, but this blame game war between students and faculty threatens the very basis of Carter spirit.
