The kilt is a part of CCAA’s history and identity. Student love it. As a former CCAA student, I still have my old kilt and treasure it as it is a token of my years at the school. There is no reason to get rid of it.

Unfortunately, you're all missing the point. It's not about the girls wearing the kilt, it's about the boys. Canada is an all-inclusive country, Catholicism is not an all-inclusive religion. If you allow the girls to wear a skirt you have to allow the boys too and the Catholic Church does not approve of displays of overt homosexuality in their school. The simplest answer is to ban the kilt. It's sad but true. There are times when you can abide by the teachings of the church or the laws of man but not easily both. I agree with this petition and admire the spirit in which it was created but it won't matter since you misunderstand the reason for the ban. Until there is somebody at the school willing to stand up for religious freedoms and ask why it is legal to force women to wear a burkha but not legal to stop a boy from wearing a skirt in the name of religious beliefs the ban will remain, regardles of petitions.

I understand that the kilt can be worn as long as there are kilts in circulation. They have stopped the authorize sale of the kilts only. But resale between persons is allowed.
This is discrimination!!

The Kilts look so much better than the pants on the girls. It's a traditional part of the Uniform. If there are girls who wear the uniform incorrectly then ban them . .. or have the shorts built into the kilts. Don't punish the entire female student body. It's very unfair. All other catholic schools have a Kilt.

The kilt makes the girls feel proud. It’s a symbol that they are Carter’s students.

Simply put, the kilt looks way better as a school uniform. It’s more of a uniform look than the pants. If the issue is with length, then those who roll up the kilt should be dealt with individually instead of an absolute ban.

We vote to keep the kilt. We will ensure our grade 7 daughter will wear it to the appropriate length required. Please keep this beautiful and traditional part of the uniform!
