The Georgia Board of Dentistry will be making a ruling about mandating the use of capnography for all conscious sedations procedures. We believe that this will decrease the efficacy of providing quality general dentistry for our patients. We feel the benefits of capnography, in regards to conscious sedation, do not justify the difficulty of its use during procedures or its substantial costs. Additionally, with outpatient procedures involving parenteral conscious sedation, knowledge of the O2 saturation via pulse oximetry is adequate for clinical purposes. Please sign this petition so that you can support our opposition to this potential ruling.
