Seeing 470 people fight to protect our landscape means everything to me because this land is finally getting the thoughtful protection it deserves. We will be watching …

Seeing 250 names on this list feels surreal because my family has spent decades watching these trails and knowing their value. I never imagined so many neighbors would care this deeply about protecting the land where I grew up.

I have been Spending my evenings looking at the maps and thinking about how this sprawl will change the trails where my family spends every weekend. You should know that town officials are starting to take notice of the volume of feedback coming from the community.

I do not think this is a good development for our community for the same reasons many have pointed out. It's not necessary (there are dozens of vacant lots available for sale in the same area), and the impact on traffic, pollution, and wildlife will be severe.

Oh come on! Yet again we have to fight some out-of-area developer who could care less about Truckee's quality of life, and the decline of property value? For over twenty years development in this area has been stomped out by the residents' voice! Once again we speak out! No more SPRAWL!

This project is NOT infill and goes against the General Plan. This is a prime example of sprawl! Developing it would be an environmental and community blunder. This project has been a bad idea for 30 years. It still is.

This development would add traffic, noise, pollution, harm wildlife migration and add many more high-priced lots to our local real estate market already flooded with un-built developments. It would put money in the developers' pockets but it will not be an asset to our community.

Sprawl. Significant biological, geological, and hydrologic issues. Increased traffic and decreased air quality. Overcrowded school. A severely flawed EIR. A citizenry who does not want this. Do the right thing!!

We do not have the infrastructure to support this project. Being a resort town, we are inundated with tourists which makes getting around, shopping, going out to eat nearly impossible. The egress in case of a natural disaster is already seriously compromised,

Too much traffic, air and noise pollution, not enough protection for the deer herd. Truckee does not need to turn into San Jose!

We have been fighting to keep this land as open space for over thirty years!! This is about politics now. I strive to be a voice for wildlife, who cannot defend for themselves. How would you like it if I mucked up your land and you have to look at it every single day. Where do the animals go after you destroy thousands of trees, build four two lane bridges over wetlands, build a road from Martis Peak Road to Edinburgh Drive, that is what needs to happen to get the first house built!! The developers have never cared for the welfare of the environment only their pocketbooks. Who are they to tell us how to live? I have lived in the same house for 30 years that butts next to this insane project known as Canyon Springs. It turns my stomach and disgusts me that these developers don't give a hoot. take to get the first house built. canno
