Too much traffic, air and noise pollution, not enough protection for the deer herd. Truckee does not need to turn into San Jose!

We have been fighting to keep this land as open space for over thirty years!! This is about politics now.

your land and you have to look at it
every single day. Where do the animals go after you destroy thousands of trees, build four two lane bridges over wetlands, build
a road from Martis Peak Road to Edinburgh Drive, that is what needs to happen to get the first house built!! The developers have never cared for the welfare of the environment only their pocketbooks.
Who are they to tell us how to live?
I have lived in the same house for 30 years that butts next to this
insane project known as Canyon Springs. It turns my stomach and disgusts me that these developers
don't give a hoot.

Aren't there enough free lots that should get developed and used first before new developments are even considered? Isn't there enough developed space available for new homes?

Like many have posted...take away the issue of lack of infrastructure in this area...if approved...you're dramatically changing the quality of life people live in Glenshire for. A small mountain town can't stay small forever...but there are better ways to grow, like promoting infill development first.

People come, people go. They do not have the strength to handle winters and the constant maintenance. Please do not destroy our wilderness under the guise of progress. And do not shrink what little free land is available to deer, bear, etc.

I have no issue with our friends in the development business. Money will flow where money can be made, that is capitalism, and that is America. Most of the homes we live in here in Truckee were once part of a master planned development. My issue with Canyon Springs is that it is not, in my opinion, responsible development from two points. One is traffic, my non- professional casual observation is that traffic on Glenshire Drive during "rush hours" is nearly bumper to bumper at times, and if you assume most of the traffic will be headed in the Hirshdale direction with a 9% grade it will be dangerous in the winter months. The traffic study seems flawed. Second, and more importantly, this development is on the edge of town, far from most schools, hospital, doctors, stores, and services. The definition of sprawl.

I live on the east. Side of Glenshire, very close to Edinburgh dr. People already drive extremely fast by our house , being a "shortcut" to Reno. There is no way our road here on Courtenay can take the extra traffic. There are already lots that have been sitting vacant that are not being built on. Why do they think they can sell 200+ more?

This cannot happen..if it does I'm leaving Truckee forever! Insane to me that's it's even in consideration. Going to become the next bay area...incredible

There are enough unsold lots in Truckee to last decades. Truckee planning commissions should stop pandering to the developers who are ruining our community for greed and start protecting the beauty that surrounds us. They are supposed to be the stewards of this community.
