Bought S100 it had the lens error. had to pay for it to be reapired even though it was in warranty. Bought a second stand by one - that now has the shutter error. Reliability?? Ha!

Very annoying, I've missed so many pictures because of this problem. Not likely to buy another Canon product.

This problem is driving me mad so glad I explored online to find I'm not the only one experiencing this shutter problem.. come on Canon sort it out because I will definitley not buy another Canon product until it is.

Same problem for me, shutter started to work inttermitently, don't work at all since three months, totally unusable now. S/N 41303200xxxx in Switzerland.

We're looking for a new, not Canon, camera now because of this problem. It only takes a picture one out of 20 times, and most of the time the moment has already passed by the time it works. Very frustrating!

Shutter will not release, despite all other functions of the camera (including video) still working.

My camera is only 2 years old and I paid $400 for it. So far this issue has rendered the camera inoperable.

SN: 452032004xxx Symptoms appeared slowly and erratically for the last 10 months; the shutter is now completely inoperative.
