Shutter problem very frustrating, brought camera on trip to san fran, and won't take any picyures at all. Think I will break nails pushing so hard

44203200xxxx About 1 ½ years old the shutter release button would focus ok, but would delay for seconds, or fail to take the picture.

I found this petition on the Canon Forums. My serial starts with 42203 and I also have a reoccurring problem with my S100 shutter button. Canon listen to your loyal customers, you have the power to turn this problem around.

shutter button not working as per dozens of others. Canon's lack of response or acknowledgement of this issue is appalling and after 20...yes 20... years as a solely Canon user and advocate I am now reconsidering. The way I see is that nothing is ever 100% reliable, but it would s how a company responds that builds or breaks the reputation.

after 1y the button became tricky to use, today 2y my camera is completely useless - just because of this silly button

The click button alias shutter release button does not work. Mine serial number is 452032003579. Same problem as others have reported. Camera is just few months old. Poor manufacture quality for a premium camera. Shocking to see absence of any company response on canon forum web site.

My S100 developed this shutter release issue one month beyond the warranty period.

This is a high-end camera, but Canon is acting like it's not their problem. The faulty part fails after approx. 1.5 years, out of warranty. My shutter began failing, then stopped working entirely. Serial no. 43XXXXXXX.
