Canon Powershot S100 - Shutter not working - request to recall

Help!!!!!

I have been struggling with the camera for the last year, thought I had accidentally turned something on to delay the shutter but it is definitly an issue with the button. great camera but this just isn't right for a camera of this price!

been a trooper of a compact camera but for what it cost it should last longer than I do

I'm an amateur Nikon SLR user and thought I would give Canon a chance with a pocket camera I use at work. Its a great little camera with advanced features. Smallest wide angle I could find. However, I've sent it in twice for repair and its starting to fail for a third time. I don't use crap, so I purchased a Samsung to replace it. No problems with the Samsung till I dropped it. I kept the S100 for backup, so I'm using it again till the Samsung is repaired. A $400 Canon, backup to a Samsung. Just ain't right.

I have had the s100 for 2 1/2 years. I have taken excellant care of it. Two months ago the shutter release is not working.

The shutter of my S100 doesn´t work since two days.

yes my shutter doesnt work at all, s100 owner from a s95 and agree something would be fair.

Started happening on my last day of vacation... Just got it two and a half years ago after each of my two previous Canons for over five years each. This is really upsetting, and I'm angry that it will cost me nearly as much as the stupid camera costs to have it fixed.

The shutter release of my Canon S100 all of sudden wouldn't work any more. After reading about other peoples' problem, I released it is a quite often issue. I spent $500 on it and extended warranty. It is rediculous for $500 camera to go down to drain in just 3 years. Canon, please repair this known problem for free or make it a recall. Thanks.

Shutter button failed during European trip under normal use. Initially problem was intermittent, now it rarely takes a picture. Sent it into factory service and they are claiming "impact damage" and trying to avoid fixing it. I am not going to pay $175 to repair a $350 camera. Will definitely avoid Canon products from now on. Unfortunately, I also have a Canon DSLR and lenses. May replace this unit with a Sony RX100 model. Very displeased with Canon.

This problem ruined my vacation. I had to use an old iPhone to take photos.
