Such a shame to lose this costly and otherwise fine camera

My Canon S100 began to have trouble intermittantly with the shutter button and now will not take pictures at all. It will still take videos and give no indication of an error. The solution that they offer is not satisfactory. These cameras are expensive!

This situation is unbelievable. Not fishing it is like admitting programmed obsolescence.

I have a Canon S100 and Im facing exactly the same problem as hundreds of S100 owners. The shutter button doesn't work properly. The camera focus but it doesn't shut the photo. I've been a loyal Canon customer for several years and I can't believe they are ignoring this major issue completely and not calling a recall or at least a free repair on cameras with this specific issue. I'm going for a Nikon next time, that's for sure!!!!!!

I have a s100 canon device and after a few months of on "idle", the shutter is not working properly. It has lag to shoot.

This is unacceptable - they have now discontinued the part! There is no way I can fix my 3 year old camera that cost almost $400!!!

Schutter don't work anymore. I'm very disappointed with canon. It is obvious that this is a factory failure and canon should made the repair without charge. If not, I will never buy canon products anymore

At first the problem was intermittent then it stopped working completely. I put the camera aside for several months. Then it started to work again for a few months then stopped. Purchased new at $500.

My problem began just after the camera was out of warrantee. At first it was intermittent within a week's period. Then it stopped completely.
