My shutter also requires a long time to work, and works once in 10 shots

Mine stopped working over a year ago I sent it in they told me it would cost a lost $200 to fix not worth it. If this gets resolved I would like to know. Thanks

I have several cameras and never had a problem with the shutter button. Canon should fix this.

I was poster #3 on the original canon forum so have had tghis issue for years. I just unearthed the camera to see if there was any progress and found this petition. I have since bought only Panasonic and Sony cameras, a direct response to this utter mis-handling of a simple problem that is clearly an issue in the manufacturing of these otherwise nice little cameras.

Loyal Canon user for years. Very annoyed by this issue. Will look at Fuji or other options in future.
