Same story as others. Paid to have Shutter Release replaced out of warranty. Worked for a few months then problem re-occurred. Clearly a design issue.

I had the shutter repaired by cannon but after using during our travel in baguio for 1 week, the shutter wont close again. Terrible.

OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY DESIGN ISSUE. CANON SHOULD ADDRESS THIS. THIS WAS A PREMIUM PRICED DEVICE..

Same problem with shutter not working, at first required multiple presses, then stopped working altogether. DeoxIT applied to shutter button brought camera back to life, but the fix did not last, and taking it apart is time consuming and open to unintended damage. Appears to be a poor contact in the switch itself, which is mounted on PCB under the shutter release button.

Canon, there are many people who trusted your brand. Please stand behind your products--it is cheaper to make a customer happy than to find new customers.

hard to believe that a company like Canon would not take responsibility for this defect. I will never buy another canon product!!
