they just announced the change and midterms are officially optional for everyone. i honestly cant believe we pulled this off but im so pumped that the administration listened to us. thanks for sticking with me while we pushed for this.
We, the undersigned, are opposed to mandatory Midterms throughout the Loudoun County Public School System in Virginia. Unfortunately, due to the the recent bad weather, there has been an inadequate amount of time to cover and review all necessary curriculum. Currently, five of the thirty-five days of this semester have been disrupted and impacted the ability for teachers to go over the necessary material with the students. With only four days left to prepare for our first midterm, we would encourage the administration to make Midterms optional for those who would like to take it.
As a parent, I feel the time is better used in making up for the loss of school instruction time due to the weather disruptions since winter break. The exams will not reflect well on the students as they have had no 'proper' A days since mid December.

The worst part about midterms is if you do bad your grade gets effected tremendously, but if you do well your grade isn't going to increase much. That's rediculous because two Quarters worth of blood, sweat and tears can go to waste because of ONE exam.

We haven't had an adequate amount of time to cover all the necessary information for the upcoming midterms, especially in our A day classes. To move forward with the exams and ignore this detail would be to ignore the needs of the students.

Midterms only measure one type of learning style, add unnecessary stress and discouragement, lower grades, cause students to cram (as they are still trying to study for second quarter assessments), and are weighted much too heavily. Midterms should be optional!

As a student who have spent an entire semester maintaining an A+ average in numerous classes, midterm exams will only ruin that. Even if I get an A on a midterm, it would lower my grade that I've tried so hard to keep. PLEASE make midterms optional.

Due to the weather causing snow days and delays, many blocks have been shortened and or missed leaving only 5 days to study and cover material for tests that will cover half a school years worth of information. I strongly urge it to be an optional choice.

Guys I don't really know why this beef must continue and I don't want to get involved. I think it's best if we let bygones be bygones.
I do understand that this was not Krishna's original post and meant as a joke. But let's not get to caught up with it. Just treat it as a joke...honestly this is more dramatic than a van full of drag queens on their way to a wig sale. No need to harass and insult each other. There's too much shit in this world already so let's all let it go.
