VICTORY!! THE CITY OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED THE CANCELLATION OF THIS EVENT AND OUR STREETS WILL FINALLY BE SAFE AGAIN!! I AM ABSOLUTELY THRILLED THAT WE REACHED THIS GOAL TOGETHER AND I WILL BE WATCHING CLOSELY TO ENSURE THIS CHANGE STICKS PERMANENTLY!!!

Black Bike Week needs to be cancelled. First of all, most of the tourists that come here for the event do not even own motorcycles, they just come here to cause trouble. They even refer to this as the "black takeover," and they just terrorize the city to prove a point. The city of Myrtle Beach earns hardly, if any, revenue from this event, and any that they do earn is outweighed by how much they lose (having to clean up the streets, deal with dine and ditches, general theft, etc.). Why do you think many businesses close up during this week? They would rather earn no money than lose a ton of it. Also, ocean boulevard is like a third world country during this week. It is packed with armed security guards, why should we promote an event that requires this? It's ridiculous, let's just please end this already. Every signature counts.

This NEEDS TO END!!! I made record sales at my store and I don't even care! I'd rather not have my employees or myself feel like they are in danger of being robbed or shot. The streets are horrible, tons of indecency, and just a bad image for the area! This needs to end now!!
Most full time residents that I know stay at home due to the increasing violence and traffic issues during this bike fest. I don't believe the city makes much money due to the increased police force and the damage that is done to hotel property.
We can't be both a family beach and biker paradise. Make a choice and stick with it. The whole month of May is controlled by bikers not residents. Why do we give them this much control over our lives?
I am a biker I attend the spring rally at the beginning of the month we respect the community and give back this black rally has turned into a violent and disturbing event. The city should support the first rally in the month and show it stands for that rally over the black rally.
This BBW has gotten out of control. It is too large for our community and caused our tax payers more money then it brings in not to mention all the violence, drugs, trash, etc... This needs to stop. We want our beach back.

This event gets larger and more unruly every year. This year was the worst yet. As a longtime resident of Myrtle Beach I have grown tired of being held captive in my own home. Let's end this unwanted festival and take back our city.
