This petition's purpose is to decrease the substantial amount of accidents and/or incidents around the Penn State Abington campus that students have to pay for because no one witnessed the indecent occur. Cameras are also needed for security reasons. In case any trespassers or other incidents that may occur, cameras will aid in students to feel safer in the parking lot during all hours on campus.

I spent the morning walking through the lots and thinking about how many of us have had to reach into our own pockets to pay for damage we did not cause. I am currently working on a formal letter to present our concerns directly to the campus administration so they can no longer ignore the safety of our vehicles and our personal security.

Seeing this momentum grow proves that I am not the only one who feels unsafe walking to my car at night. Knowing so many of you share this fear reminds me why I started this fight in the first place.

I made the decision to leave my house extra early for my classes to park at targets parking lot and take the shuttle to school because I have heard about and seen too many hit and runs at Penn State Abington's campus parking lots.
Let's see some action on taking a professional approach to accountability and securing students' peace of mind about the safety of their property on campus through the the installation of security cameras in all parking lots.
These lots are dangerous and costly for students. Crimes are committed in them frequently.
I am the chair of the Parking & Transportation Committee on SGA. If you see any immediate concerns shoot me an email at [email protected] and I will personally see that they get addressed.
I just recently had the front of my car badly scratched by someone at school, unfortunately, they never left a note saying who they were.
