Every student should have equal access the studios to further their academic and/or creative advancement. As a creator, I know what a disadvantage it is not having an accessible studio.

If the college is open, it is right and fair that all students should have access to studio space to carry out there required course work.

UAL needs to deliver their resources consistently, with the practical needs of student Artists at the top of the list. I would have thought it essential that all senior staff be sensitive to the cycle of work, learning, and practical output through the entire arc of the courses that they offer. So I'm particularly disappointed that this is so tone-deaf to the needs of fine art students, especially those in their final year. These students, especially, will be naturally hungry to deliver maximum output at this stage. What do the senior professorial staff have to say to this? Because IF it is not within their remit to influence such decisions, then something is very wrong!

As a parent of a current student I completely agree. Far too little studio time available as it is. Studios should be open on Sundays and holidays as well.

Dedicated spaces for creating art are essential in providing an environment and resources to art students which cannot be replicated in private accommodation.

The closure of the studios over Easter break gives no consideration to students who have to support themselves by working during term time. Student poverty is real, and UAL have proved time after time that they don’t help students who are at an economic disadvantage. Opening the studios gives working students a more level playing field, ensuring they can catch up with hours missed due to having working lives. For the extortionate fees students have to pay, the debt they are saddled with when they leave, and the scant jobs market they are faced with once they graduate, give these students something back for the love of God! University leadership seem to do nothing to advocate for students, from the silence on cancelling tuition fees, to the total lack of response to student voice. Keeping the studios open over Easter is the bare minimum.
