please save this festival. Cancelling it at the last minute for such a trivial excuse is really poor form.

This festival brings roughly $100k into Charlton - a small country town that has struggled through drought and floods. It is so good for the town, let alone the thousands of people that come to enjoy the festival.

its an Arty weekend that allow a lot of hard working people to relax, reconnect . its good and enriching for the local businesses and important for the city folks. To have those moments with the land and the music and art . A unique type of sharing , bonding and restrengthening of the individual spirit . we all need every once in a while an outlet from the daily pressure . Maitreya in a gentle way through the modem of music and dancing is just that. One of the greatest quality and advantage of Australia compared to the rest of the world is its unspoiled nature and the freedom accorded to its citizens , please do keep it this way!

To whom it may concern As an Arts Educator I look towards festivals such as Maitreya as enabling and cultivating positive networks that enrich Victorias cultural Arts heritage. As national leader of 'the Arts', Victoria sends a strong message to international shores which attracts opportunities for industry growth in numerous sectors including tourism, higher education and music. The cascading effects of disabling alternative festivals such as Maitreya are phenomenal. This action will ultimately deliver a negative return for councils in the short term as local income and in the long term as multiple lost revenue streams. Please reconsider. Ellen Brogan.
