They actually stepped down and I can barely believe it honestly but the board is finally clearing out like we needed it to. It feels wild to realize this is really over since my head is still spinning from all the emails and stress but thank you for holding the …
WJFF: Calling for the Resignations of the Current and Immediate Past Board Presidents
The recent resignation of Winston Clark as Station Manager at community
radio station WJFF Jeffersonville, NY, was an important step in
restoring the WJFF to the vibrant, diverse broadcaster and model
community resource it once was. But that one step will not be enough.
We,
the undersigned, volunteers, members, and listeners of WJFF Radio
Catskill now issue a Vote of No Confidence in the current Board of
Trustees. Those on the Board of Trustees who knew about and participated
in the abuses of the recent past, yet did nothing to put an end to
them, must be held accountable. In order for WJFF to move forward in a
healthy and responsible way, we call for the resignations of the
current board president, Dawn Dorcas, and of the immediate past
president, Steve Van Benschoten, effective May 15, the date of the May Board of Trustees meeting.
I have been hearing from so many former volunteers lately who feel just as ignored as I do about the state of the station. It is honestly exhausting to keep pushing when the board acts like we are invisible but I am still firing off emails to anyone who will listen because this silence from them is just proving my whole point.

The energy behind this is honestly wild and honestly a bit overwhelming in the best way possible because I never expected so many people to feel this strongly about the station. It proves we all want the same thing for the future of the radio so let me just take a second to breathe because we really have something going now.

Enough is enough. The station needs a clean slate to actually function like it used to.

WJFF is for the community not for the board to treat like their own private club. Time for new leadership.
