We, as in-house lawyers, join our colleagues in condemning unprecedented crimes against humanity carried out by Hamas against innocent men, women and children in Israel. We call on our colleagues in the legal profession to stand together with us against this ultimate expression of bigotry and jew hatred.

Since the mass atrocities of October 7, 2023, we have followed the words and actions of those with whom we do business and others in our legal community – our law schools, the law firms we engage, the banks we work with and a host of other third-party vendors. Some have been unequivocal in their moral stance against terrorism, antisemitism and hate. Others have issued watered-down statements appearing unwilling to fully condemn prejudice and hatred when confronted with Jewish suffering. And others remain silent. We do not understand the “other side” of slaughtering babies and torturing women and children held hostage. There is no room to be neutral. And we have decided that we can no longer remain silent or neutral.

We call on our law schools, and law firms, and banks, and other third-party vendors that support our businesses to unequivocally denounce terrorism and hate against Israel and the Jewish people in an uncompromising manner, and to act and behave in a manner consistent with that denouncement and to refrain from hiring those who support Hamas and their crimes against humanity. We will act consistently by voting with our feet and our dollars.

We stand for peace. We affirm the right of all people – Jews and non-Jews – to live in peace and security, and we wholeheartedly reject the moral equivalence of bloodthirsty terrorists, and Israel’s imperative to defend its population.

Updates

October 27, 2023

The silence from some of the institutions we rely on has been deafening since this began. I am currently cataloging the responses from our partners because it is past time to hold these firms accountable for their lack of moral clarity.

October 27, 2023

The response from our colleagues across the legal profession has been overwhelming and deeply moving. We are seeing a powerful shift in the conversation as more people refuse to accept moral neutrality during this crisis.

Terrorism needs to be eliminated & shouldn’t be endorsed by anyone so education is needed.

I stand with Israel and vehemently oppose Hamas and its terrorist attacks on the Jews and Israeli people.

I support Israel's right and duty to defend its people and existence from the terrorists of Hamas and Hezbollah and those that support them. I also urge Israel to minimize harm to all civilians, including the many, many innocent Gazans.

I strongly condemn the terror inflicted on Israel by Hamas especially on Oct 7, the worst slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust.

I strongly condemn the actions of Hamas. This is a humanitarian issue, not an Israeli one.

I echo Heather's sentiments: "We must not be silent against hate and terrorism. Words matter and actions matter. Never Again Is Now!"
