The Council confirmed today that all plans for the Winsford prison site are officially withdrawn. We have secured the full public consultation process we originally demanded. My team will continue to monitor all future land development reports to ensure this commitment remains honored.

I have sent a formal request for a meeting with the planning department to demand transparency regarding the proposed timeline. Council officials have yet to provide a public schedule for community consultations so I am currently drafting a follow-up inquiry to press for these details.

I am totally against a prison in Winsford. It is typical of CWaC to put forward Winsford. We here always are the last in line for anything from CWaC unless it is something distasteful. It is a case of Chester and surrounding areas first, Wirral second and Winsford a poor last.

I live near the area that the proposed prison would be built and the idea is unjust and no one in the council has had the decency to mention this to the residents, the elected councillors need to liaise with the electorate or they won't be getting my vote.

Would be devesatated if a prison was built in my area, my husband and I saved for years to own our own home, now to be told we could potentially be living next door to a prison! I wouldn't have bought here having known that so some others will inevitably feel the same way!

A prison will have a severe negative impact on businesses coming to the Ind Estate. The money for the prison should be spent on the Town Center facilities. Why was this project being sneaked through the backdoor and residents found out by mistake?

Signing to rule out a prison in winsford ! Absolutely ludicrous idea ! If money needs spending then I suggest another school or a cinema , ice ring, the shopping centre could do with s massive make over , shops etc , that would also bring jobs in the town

A small community like Winsford which isv highly population with children and families should not be expected to accommodate a prison. This community needs money to improve existing facilities for residents and their children not be used to house the nations criminals.

A preposterous idea to suggest that Winsford should have a prison built here. It has enough of a problem in raising its profile without such nonsense.

Winsford has a bad enough reputation outside the town without this
