Call for Resignation: School Board Member Towanna Murphy Must Step Down

It is time to resign from the School Board which should be filled by adults who model respectful, responsible behavior for our children.

The behaviors being displayed and comments being made by board member Murphy is down right unprofessional, embarrassing, and threatening. She does not need to represent the district or community in any capacity.

They all need to go.

For a better Memphis!

Her behavior regardless of the reason was unacceptable and completely unprofessional. Whether she felt attacked or not she was elected to hold a position that requires her to act in a professional manner. Not only was her response offensive to a whole ethnicity/community but then for her to go on live not to apologize but to excuse her behavior is absurd. That action confirms she doesn’t hold the values someone in that position needs to have. A decision to keep her is a decision on whether you agree or disagree with her behavior. SCS I hope you do the right thing and hire a replacement that can uphold that position to the standard it should be held.

We deserve leaders who uplift every student and resident, not those who use their platforms to spread division.

Towanna Murphy and Stephanie Love both need to resign from the School Board.

She practically advocates for a new slave class made of a vulnerable minority group. Have you not learned anything at all? You are a bully and probably always have been. How do people like this get elected?

I am saddened that a board member would threaten parents. Regardless of what was said to her and what prompted her response, that behavior should not be tolerated. If this happened in a normal workplace position, she would be terminated right away. As employees in the district, we provide customer service to our parents and community. We are to SERVE them. We are trying to improve the district. Let's come up higher.

Please take this petition seriously. She should not be in this position.

In support of all the immigrants. Do not llow bullying and humiliation just because of race/color of your skin!
