Californians Against CAHA Changing 10U Hockey To Half Ice

Please keep the games at full ice! This would be imperative for development in youth hockey!

I have a 12U player and can’t imagine how he and his team would have done this year if he had only played half ice.

This sounds like another money grab idea by the Kings and Ducks. Maximize the number of paying players on the ice. Instead of two teams using a sheet of ice we can charge four teams to use the same sheet. I love small area games in practice and feel that the ADM model works fine for 8U. But let the small area games stay in practice in the older ages. Let them start to build their pattern recognition and hockey iq for the game.

No half ice!

This will hinder the development of youth hockey players in CA, putting them at a massive disadvantage when playing against teams from other parts of the US, Canada, and world. The delayed development will result in 1.) players leaving the state to seek proper development 2.) Youth players in CA missing out on Junior, Collegiate, and Professional opportunities due to their delayed development in comparison to their peers.

Stunningly ignorant concept at a time when California hockey is emerging with exceptional talent. Stay the course.

Bad for the age group and their development.

The worst idea to change 10U to half ice. Keep it at full ice and change 8U to full ice as well.

Un fair and less fun

10U players need at least 2 years experience on full ice to be developed enough to play 12U.

Full ice for all.

Why half ice? What are the benefits? Where are the growing opportunities?

It’s absolutely not acceptable!! Non of the California te would be competitive outside of state!!

Do not let 10u do half ice

Let the kids play hockey. Half ice does NOTHING for their development.

10U is too old for half ice! This will creat more contact and injury potential for the kids.

We support full ice!!!

Keep it Full Ice!!

Half ice would stunt the development of our young players.
