Californians Against CAHA Changing 10U Hockey To Half Ice

I don’t think this is a good idea for 10 U groups!!

Insanity! I wonder what all the board members would have said if this forced on their kids? I know most of them, No way would they have accepted this. Do the right thing CAHA cancel this nonsense!

10U, kids are getting too big to play 1/2 ice. 1/2!ice can be good for small area games as a part of skill development, but need full ice to continue to learn the full hockey sense & the speed of the game

Please do NOT change 10U play to half ice! This would be very destructive to the sport in California and would kill the enjoyment of the game. 10U players already know the rules from watching their NHL heroes play, so let them play the actual game! Coaches are well aware of when it's appropriate to train and play/scrimmage half ice, so let the coaches coach and let the players play without imposing a rule like this from above.

This is a horrible idea and will likely drive families away from programs.

You can’t ask parents to pay club fees and get half a rink. Half rink sucks and the refs are very inconsistent.

For my 10u player, moving up to full ice was a major accomplishment and something he was proud of. Going back down would ruin the game for him.
