Caerphilly County Borough Council should reconsider its decision to reject the possibility of Morrisons opening a store at Blackwood Gate retail park

We call on Caerphilly County Borough Council to reconsider their decision to reject the application for a Morrisons supermarket to be sited at the former Focus unit at Blackwood Gate retail park.
We consider this development to be vital to creating employment opportunities for residents of Blackwood, Pontllanfraith and the surrounding areas, particularly at a time of recession and high unemployment.
We are appalled by the apparently thoughtless attitude of some local councillors who have failed to consider their constituents' demand for local job opportunities.

The council thinks they can hide behind their desks while our community struggles without jobs. They ignored our needs but they cannot ignore the growing pressure we are putting on them to rethink this disastrous choice.

The council have no idea what it is like for normal families around here. need the employment and the convenience ASAP.
Ridiculous decision. We need jobs in blackwood properly not just empty units sitting there doing nothing for years.
Total madness. turning away jobs when the town is struggling is just typical of the council.
My son needs a job locally and this would be perfect. why do they always make it so hard for businesses to open here.
Waste of a good retail space. get it open!

About time we got a morrisons closer to home. sick of driving out to get decent shopping.
