GMPTE are planning to build a bus shelter on Lord Lane Failsworth in replace of an existing bus stop. Looking at the damage that has been done to other bus shelters in the area I am starting a petition against this. There is another bus stop only a few metres away from this one and I just think that the money they are going to spend building this shelter could be better spent repairing the existing ones. It is well known that bus shelters attract anti social behaviour. Gangs of youths congregate in bus shelters and can be often seen drinking alcohol and dropping litter. The bus shelter is near a local primary school and I fear that should it get smashed up it will pose a danger to both children and local residents. The bus stop itself currently causes its own problems with people waiting for buses banging on the residents windows and leaving litter on the floor. Please join me in signing this petition against the proposals and make Failsworth a cleaner, safer place for us all. You don't have to live near the proposed site in order to reject the plans.
