Our people deserve more than just a hospital. They deserve a modern medical complex.
As a nurse and as your Governor, I want our island to have access to the best in health care services.
Limiting ourselves to building a stand-alone hospital ensures we only receive standard hospital care.
Expanding our vision to build a state-of-the-art medical complex with specialized care for patients SUPPORTS our nurses and local medical industry, DECREASES drive time between facilities, and IMPROVES function and operations.
This medical complex will include:
- A Public Health Center
- A Behavioral Health and Wellness Center
- A Pharmacy
- Specialty Care Clinics: Cardiology, Neurology, Maternal Child Health, Oncology, Gastroenterology, and more.
- A Veterans Administration Facility
- And Medical Providers’ Offices
Too many of our loved ones have been forced to leave island to receive medical treatments. And for too long, we’ve accepted the status quo. We now have a unique opportunity to bring world-class healthcare here so that recovery can start where it should–at home!

Yes Guam needs a medical center with every facility for health care located in one place. Also room enough to provide private clinics in the same vicinity.
Thousands of island residents travel off-island to seek quality medical services. The doctors and medical staff who voice opposition to the Mangilao location because the Center of Gravity of their operations is in Tamuning and Tumon is moot. Build the Mangilao hospital and they will come.
This makes sense... A "Centeralized" medical facility that is easily accessible and not forced to deal with the growing congestion of Tamuning, when every second counts.
If so many people go to the PI to St Luke’s and the Medical City, which are medical complexes, why not provide the same here? Traveling can be quite difficult for certain patients. I would like to have the option of receiving care here at home.
Since early 1970's every Governor knew we needed a new hospital . It's time that the people of Guam receive the standard of care that other US jurisdictions have. We can't wait another forty years.

Medical Complex is long overdue for the people who deserve a state of the art facility to receive care, not to mention the other departments and their services being co-located in the same are will only enhance the continuum of healthcare on our island.
