The county commissioners formally approved the budget allocation for the new library branch this morning. We are now transitioning into the site selection phase and will provide updates as the construction timeline becomes available.

Please join the petition in support of a library branch on the east side of I-45!
In 2002, the Montgomery County Facilities Master Plan for the county library system proposed a new library branch on the east side of I-45 to accommodate the cultural and educational needs of the community. However, since the completion of one new building (in 2005) and two replacement facilities (in 2006 and 2007), there has been no county movement towards any additional library branches, despite the strong growth in our community. After nine years, it is time for change.
Recently, a number of you have emailed and called County Judge Craig Doyal and Commissioner James Noack about this important issue. The public support has been amazing!
This petition is meant to reflect that broad community support behind this effort. With your continued help, we can move the county to action and get a new library built in our area.

We have reached one hundred signatures which provides enough leverage to request a formal meeting with the Commissioner's office. I am currently drafting a letter to present our specific data regarding local growth and facility needs at the next county budget session.

A library would be a wonderful resource for our family since we are not able to spend a great deal of money on our children at this time. We still wish to give them fulfilling experiences.
A library in this pet of the community is very needed. Just the sheer number of schools built or being constructed in the last 5 years are testament to the growing number of students and families. The library would be a huge asset. It is time to address the needs of this part of the community.
We just moved here from a rural town in Colorado. We couldn't believe we have to drive so far for a library here living in a suburb of such a large city. Books are such amazing tools for children and adults alike! This area needs a library to continue to encourage reading in children and adults alike.
I believe that a library in the 99/Rayford cooridor as it would absolve the overcrowding issues we have of other libraries in the area in regard to childrens program, computer usage. It would also allow for a public place for groups to hold event
The growth in the area merits a library and would be very helpful for me and my children who love the library. It's too far and traffic is too bad for me to take my kids after school so we are only frequent library visitors in the summer. This would so much expand their world to have a location accessible to us.

Driving my son 30 minutes for story time every week which lasts 20 minutes and is always over crowded is disappointing. We check books out from the library often and would love something closer for our community!
