To Whom It May Concern: On Monday May 17, 2010 Administration from The College at Brockport, State University of New York announced a plan to restructure the Seymour College Union. This immediate plan to restructure space intends to directly affect the location and operations of several departments currently within the building. After more than 40 years of successful leadership opportunities, special events, and representation of the Student Body on the first floor of the Union, the Brockport Student Government is being forced to move; displacing our organization to the basement level. The Brockport Student Government stands firm in their need to remain on the first level of the Union to maintain the high level of service we provide to students on a daily basis. We are embarking on a great crusade in which our professional and ethical actions should not be held against our cause. In the following weeks and months, we will provide evidence of our importance to The College at Brockport in any form we deem necessary. Brockport Student Government will stop at nothing to strengthen our representation of the student body. We are committed to serving the Student Body in its entirety, and feel strongly that the future actions of the College will be appropriate and professional. We ask that this situation is reexamined and all parties affected are able to discuss this move in a fair and proactive manner; benefitting the College as a whole.
