I stand with the citizens of Brookfield, IL and support the addition of a chicken-friendly ordinance allowing the keeping of backyard hens in Brookfield. I know that backyard chickens bring a lot of positive contributions to communities which embrace them.

Seeing this kind of momentum is exhausting but it keeps me moving forward. I am drained by the resistance we face but knowing there are so many people behind this effort makes it worth the fight.

Fresh eggs are way better than the grocery store stuff. Plus it teaches kids where food actually comes from instead of just a carton.

We need this in Brookfield finally. My neighbor has them in the next town over and you wouldnt even know they were there.

It is about time our town joined the 21st century. Cant see any downside to letting folks raise their own food.

Ridiculous that we cant have a couple hens in our own yards. They are quiet and helpful in the garden. Please change this outdated rule.

People act like chickens are loud or messy but they really arent. Dogs cause way more disturbance in this neighborhood than a few hens would.
