This is part of the bureaucracy that Mr. Freedman taught us about. He is one of only a handful of teachers in my life that I quote and still remember what I learned nearly 30 years ago to this day.

Mr. Freedman is more than a teacher. He takes the time to get to know all of his students and keeps up with them after they graduate. He is a legend at LACHSA and under no circumstances should he be forced to return to LAUSD. He should retire (50 years from now) a LACHSA teacher.

Mr. Freedman has worked at LACHSA for well over two decades. He is being forced out yet again. He is part of the institution and it is angering as to why he is being asked to leave yet again after all these continued years of service. Please keep Mr. Freedman at LACHSA.

LACHSA dropped Vicky Silva, a co-founder of the Theatre Department, " to save money". Now they're using the same bogus excuse to drop Jerry Freedman, the most-loved teacher in the school by every student ever there. LACHSA has been systematically destroyed by the administration for years. Dropping Freedman finishes the job.

Mr. Freedman is a LACHSA staple and was an integral part of my academic success while I was attending LACHSA '89-92. Losing him would be like losing a heartbeat.

It would be an absolute travesty if Mr. Freedman was not a teacher at LACHSA. My daughter has had a passion for history, studying hard and giving thought to ideas and issues all ignited by Mr. Freedman. Not to mention the support and guidance he has shown to so many of his students. Keep Freedman at LACHSA!!!!!!!!

Jerry Freedman is pillar at Los Angeles County for the Arts (LACHSA) and has been for 30 years. He has maintained the role of teacher, mentor and friend to many of his current and former students. Now a days, it is very difficult to find a teacher who maintains the passion and tenacity that Jerry continuously holds. He is asking to be allowed to continue doing what he loves to do. Anyone fortunate enough to have had him as a teacher is truly the lucky one. . LACHSA focuses on the arts and most students that attend this school put in many dedicated hours of extra commuting time, added rehearsal time and usually the academics are not their first priority...Jerry Friedman inspires and motivates his students to appreciate their academic classes as well. His passion for what he does is PRICELESS. Many of his former students are fortunate enough to be able to call him a mentor and friend after graduation. Please stop this madness of requiring him to fight every single year to continue to do what he soo loves to do. Please honor Jerry Fridman's request to continue teaching at this extraordinary school

I was his student in Flushing High School in 1966 and 7. I was not a good student but he taught me to love American History. Today I visit the Revolutionary battlefields and the Civil War battlefields. I have a love of history that started in his class room. I am 66yrs old and his gift to me goes on and on. It's more than passing a test and getting a mark. It's a life long gift that he gave me and I can never pay him back. He wants to teach. He won the Pulitzer Prize. He can still relate to students. He is a mentor to many. I don't understand why you wouldn't want him .He is the best you have. I don't understand.
