Attending St Patrick Elementary used to bring a sense of PRIDE. Parents knew, without a doubt, that it was truly an excellent beginning for their children. Over the past year, the dishonesty, lack of communication, and lack of discretion in staff hiring used by the new administration is nothing short of embarrassing.
The emphasis placed on expansion of the 7th and 8th grades and a county-Collaborative PreK program (despite lack of attention to the current PreK program, including the fact that the Creative Curriculum was never purchased) has left a large portion of the current school's parents feeling disregarded. Concerns over a plethora of issues at the school have fallen on deaf ears.
Lack of organization, lack of appropriate input to the Advisory Board, hiring individuals who have been fired from Lewis County Schools, hiring an unqualified "curriculum director", not putting the needs of the current students or current staff first, taking over PTO meetings and making parents feel like their voice is not welcome, disregarding concerns over the cleanliness of the school... the list goes on!
Parents are witnessing discord like has never been seen before in the school. We want to bring back a St Patrick School that the entire school, and entire community, can be proud of!

We had issues with the pre kindergarten class. My son is not ready for kindergarten and now has to repeat pre kindergarten if I can't get him ready over the summer. Our children are not returning in fall. I really pray this helps.
We have decided to pull all three of our children next year. Until we have a true professional in the Principles office, returning is not an option.
This is poor overall administration of the school. You have to lead by example not by instilling fear in parents and shut down their concerns. The filth that constitutes 20% of students being out of school is a direct reflection of poor fund management and overall direction. Unfortunate that so many feel that public school is a better option than this Christian education that they will be leaving St Pats next year. We should have the type of school that is inviting for parents not running them off because of poor results of administration.
Someone falsified my signature on this petition. I absolutely would NOT sign this. At first I decided to refrain from commenting on this petition, a largely falsified ludicrous assault. I felt even acknowledging it gave it more power; however, now that I see that it's being sent privately to individuals, I'm going respond so as to hopefully give a very different viewpoint for people to consider. This petition is mean-spirited and the signatures/comments, heck, even the petition itself, can be/is written anonymously, which, to me, verifies the underhandedness of the assault. There is no objective or specific outcome sought by the petition website. As I was personally attacked with completely false information, I find it shameful and heartbreaking. I love St. Pat's. I love it as a parent, a community member, and as a volunteer. St. Pat's teachers and students lifted my family up in prayer when I was first diagnosed, and those teachers gave my children extra hugs and reassurance when my future was very unknown. Unless you've been in that situation, you can't possible understand the value of having a loving, protective school family when times are difficult. Beyond that, St. Pat's has prepared my daughters well beyond where my sons were in the public system at this point in their educational careers. St. Pat's teachers are always, always, always ON; there is no downtime. Every second in those classroom has purpose. And as a volunteer, devoting time to the school and getting to share my life with such wonderful people, big and small, has been the greatest source of healing for me. I often refer to St. Pat's as my healing place because it has and continues to be just that. Is St. Pat's perfect? Nope. Are there changes coming? Yep. Will there be growing pains? Absolutely. But growing pains are a result of GROWTH, and as scary and frustrating as change may be, growth is necessary in all aspects of life. Growth, inward and outward, together and individually,
My Mom was Class of 1944, My Aunt Peggy was Class of 1942 and Uncle Tommy was Class of 1940?
Seriously comtemplating not coming back next year! We LOVE this school and church, but the change in the atmosphere here is unbearable. If I wanted my children schooled in this manner we would go to public school.
We will not be returning next year after hearing about the "Pre-K County collaboration". So disappointing!

After having children in St. Pats for the past 12 years, the past 2 years have been disappointing to say the least. Teachers nor parents opinions are considered and it is being run as a dictatorship rather than a collaborative environment. Education has been put on the back burner. What a huge disappointment.
