Borger—home to about 12,551 residents with strong family values —deserves better access to modern higher education and career growth.
A respected state college has recently expressed interest in opening a new campus in Borger, TX; however, before moving forward, the college's leadership wants to ensure that the Borger community truly supports and desires this opportunity.
Why We Support This Petition:
1 - The state college will offer modern education and industry-relevant programs, making it a magnet for companies seeking a skilled and educated workforce.
2- Unlike a community college, the state college will not impose local taxes; instead, it receives its funding directly from the state. The people of Borger should not bear more taxes!
3 - It would help retain local talent in Hutchinson County and attract new students to live and work here.
4 - It would support key industries and employers—like manufacturing, healthcare, public works—by offering relevant workforce development and certification programs.
5 - Community-led support can reassure the college that Borger is serious about this change.
Everyone who signs this petition will be proudly honored by having their name placed on the Wall of Fame in the entrance of the new campus — a lasting tribute to the citizens who stood up for Borger’s future. Bout time we got something like this. No new taxes is the best part. Make it happen.
Yes!! Finally something good is happening in this town. My daughter graduates next year and she would love to stay close to home.
Maybe this will encourage the youth to continue there education and the athletes to keep trying their best through their high school years. Maybe less will end up pregnant, in trouble or in dead end jobs.
Borger needs this bad. Tired of seeing all the young kids move away just to get a decent degree. Lets keep them here.
Borger is a small community that is a family. I was raised here and I moved back to raise my children. Everyone takes care of each other. This a family oriented town that would love to be a part of this great opportunity.
