Seeing 250 names on this list proves how much Sam meant to all of us. I truly thought I would be the only one pushing for her return after what Mr Jacobs did.

Seeing the count climb toward two hundred and fifty reminds me how much Sam meant to all of us. Please send the link to one person who knows how much we need her back at The Chase so we can hit that goal before tonight.

Everyone knows that the event on Monday most likely would not of happened if Sam had not got fired and had helped Joel through his problem. She is dedicated to her job and really does make a difference. I hope Mr Jacobs sees all these comments and brings her back!
I found it a very strange decision to sack Sam Morris as there are so many student's at The Chase who needed her help and support. Her waiting list when she left the school last year was long and I know a lot of children felt abandoned and distressed at her leaving.
It would appear, in hindsight, that this was a huge mistake by those at the top - a vital and key member of staff - saving money is clearly not as important as student welfare - extremely poor judgement by those in power - which begs the question, are they the right people to be in power?
Sam is a fantastic councillor who has help me personally though rough patches I'm my life, and has helped many, many others through a variety of different situations and circumstances. She was an incredible asset to the school and even after her redundancy she had continued to be such a great help to individuals through her own scheme Safe With Sam.
She was a pivotal member of staff for me, and so many other people. She helped so many people with various issues ranging in severity, its safe to say that if she didnt help then I may not be here.
Think it may be too late to reinstate Sam, however the school does require a child drop in counselling service on site. There are very few early intervention support services for young people beyond the walls of the school, referrals are very lengthy to the PCT mental health services and the mental health issues have to be acute, profound ie high level, before any referral would be made through a GP, and the reality is that young people do not generally go to GPs for health reasons voluntarily and there are barriers around organising appointment, transport, and not knowing a GP. Sam was in a perfect position to be that initial first line of support, early intervention is far more effective both for the emotional health of students and the cost effectiveness of health issues requiring outside support and or the criminal justice system to step in. However, the 'bigger picture' is often ignored due to a lack of joined up thinking and working in financial silos ie Chase had a debt therefore redundancies are enforced to cut that debt therefore cut the 'low hanging fruit' first. This is, in my opinion, is why Sam Morris is no longer at the Chase and I worry deeply for the well being of vulnerable pupils from all socio-economic backgrounds. Mental well being has a direct impact on academic success, so if our state school system's only narrative is one of academic results surely we are very short sighted if we don't take into account our children's social and emotional well being.
I think the comments shared by the Students speak of the great need to have someone like Sam in any school. Students welfare and safety is of such importance. Schools have always had people of skill in their particular field. Sam has that very unique skill which is so so important Thank you Connie for what you are doing on behalf of your fellow students and the School. James a School Governor.

I am not from this school or even close to it actually but if this councillor has helped so many students and those students are doing so much to get her back, she is worth everything you can do to get her back. Obviously she is good at what she does and genuinely cares about these kids.
